¨     PUBLICITY

We will have lots of page-size posters available. Please pick up some and distribute to wherever the event will be publicized.

Be sure to tell your friends and neighbours about the great bargains to be found here and encourage them to donate their unwanted treasures.

¨     PRE-SELLING POLICY

Every year there are varying opinions over the pros and cons of pre-selling items to volunteers. Some of the concerns that have been raised are:

1.               People donating the items never see them at the Sale and can't get any

information regarding whether they were sold, or went missing, or how

much money they brought in for the church. This stops some people from

donating expensive items.

2.               As normal human beings, we all enjoy finding a good bargain. However, if volunteers buy items for less than their fair value, then the church is losing out.

3.     If all the "good stuff" is gone before the doors open for the Sale, then people

will stop coming.

4.     When some volunteers allow pre-selling and some don't, the inconsistency

creates problems and hard feelings amongst the volunteers.

THEREFORE, THERE WILL BE NO PRE-SELLING PRIOR TO SATURDAY.

As a concession to our Garage Sale volunteers, they will be allowed to shop one

hour before the doors open to the public (9:00 a.m.). If more than one person wants the same item, it will go to the highest offer. If you are not available on Saturday, but have volunteered earlier in the week, you will need to find someone else to do your shopping. Please do not remove your "new items" from the building while our customers are waiting in line outside.
